Establishment
Founded in 1984 in Hayward, California, Hayward Quartz Technology, Inc. began with just two employees in a 10,000 square foot facility. Our primary goal was to support quartz fabricators by providing high-quality machined quartz products.
Today
From those modest beginnings, Hayward Quartz Technology has grown to become one of the world’s largest privately held quartz fabricators. Now based in Fremont, CA, our state-of-the-art facilities span over 250,000 square feet and employ over 250 dedicated professionals. We are an authorized distributor and fabricator for all major quartz material providers and extend our expertise to a range of materials including aluminum oxide, single and polycrystalline silicon, aluminum nitride, sapphire, and more.
Our expansive high-volume production capabilities, combined with a comprehensive R&D department, enable us to deliver technical assistance and rapid turnaround for even the most time-sensitive projects.
1984
Establising and Expanding
• 1984: Hayward Quartz Technology (HQT) incorporated in Hayward, CA, starting in a small ~15,000 sq. ft. building.
• 1990: Added a second building in Hayward to support expanding capabilities, including laser cutting and machining.
• 1994: Purchased land and built our first new 50,000 sq. ft. facility in Fremont, CA, expanding to include CNC machining, lapping, and polishing.
• 1996: Began construction of a 75,000 sq. ft. manufacturing building at our corporate headquarters site.
• 1997: Groundbreaking for a second 75,000 sq. ft. building at our Fremont campus.
1998
ENHANCING CAPACITY
• 1998: Introduced waterjet machining capability.
• 2003: Achieved ISO 9001 certification and added cleanroom final cleaning capability.
• 2005: Added wire saw capabilities.
• 2006: Established internal analytical capabilities to support cleanroom cleaning validation and offer expertise customer solutions.
2010
ADVANCING AUTOMATION
• 2010: Released semi-automated glass blowing R&D projects for production implementation.
• 2017: Initiated fully robotic automated glass blowing R&D.
• 2018: Automated robotic glass blowing released for production and qualified by Key customer.
2020
GROWING DURING CRISIS
• 2020: Designated as an essential critical supplier during the pandemic.
• 2021: Acquired land for expansion in Vietnam as a cost-effective option.
• 2023: Completed the Vietnam site; equipment relocation begins.

PRODUCTION CAPACITIES
Hayward Quartz is constantly expanding our capabilities and capacity by adding new equipment as well as new technology to support our customers.
The headquarters of Hayward Quartz Technology is at 1700 Corporate Way and the cross street is Warm Spring Blvd. This building can easily be accessible from both 880 and 680 freeways ( please see map ). This building was built in 1996 and is a 75,000 square foot building which houses several departments like : Finance & Accounting, Sales & Customer Services, QC, Shipping & Receiving, Laser, Blanchard, Saw, Mill and Lathe. Our 1000 square foot, state-of-art clean room is also located in this building. This building currently has about 100 full time employees.

In addition to all types of Quartz and Ceramic materials Hayward Quartz Technology also maintains a large inventory of Silicon materials in both Poly and Single crystal .
